Dr. rer.nat. Frederik Matthias Spiegelhalder

Frederik Spiegelhalder studied physics at Heidelberg University and was awarded a Ph.D. with honors at the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Innsbruck. In the course of his experiments with ultracold Fermi gases, he acquired practical experience with diode laser systems and fiber lasers for cooling and trapping neutral atoms.

After gaining his Ph.D., he worked at the University of Amsterdam as a research associate, followed by a position as a design engineer for a start-up in Delft that developed an electron-beam lithography system.

In mid 2013, he started his patent attorney training in Munich. Since 2017, he has been a German patent attorney and trademark agent and authorized to represent clients as a Professional Representative before the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). In 2018, he was entered in the list of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (EPA). As early as 2015, he started freelancing in the field of protection of industrial property.

Frederik Spiegelhalder is familiar with numerous legal and economic aspects of intellectual property. He supports the application process from the idea to the granted property right and beyond, e.g. in opposition and infringement proceedings.
